7 Storey Building Collapse In Port Harcourt, 30 Dead, Many Injured


A 7 Storey building under construction opposite the D PLANET night club GRA portharcourt has collapsed.

At the time of filing this report, over 30 workers has been confirmed dead while the Rescue officials are still trying to save others.

INEC Identifies 24 Inaccessible Polling Units In Yobe

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Yobe State says it has identified 24 inaccessible areas with security challenges where elections will not hold. Ahmad Makama, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, stated this at a stakeholders interactive session on Wednesday in Damaturu. He said security operatives had confirmed some communities in Gujba, Gulani and Giedam with security challenges that were inaccessible and not conducive for election. Makama said the commission was liaising with the communities for a more accessible alternative polling units to cast their votes. “We are determined to ensure that every eligible voter exercises his franchise, and are therefore collaborating with all political parties and stakeholders for a generally acceptable alternative polling units so that no one will cry foul,” he said. According to the commissioner, 69,000 Permanent voters card had not been claimed in the state. (NAN)

'APC Thugs, Police After My Life' - Saraki

Senate President Bukola Saraki has raised the alarm, alleging threat to his safety and that of the members of his immediate family in Ilorin, Kwara State. Addressing reporters in Abuja on Friday, Saraki fingered thugs allegedly sponsored by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the police as instigators. Saraki, who is the Director General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, described the alleged conspiracy against him by the thugs and the police as sinister, uncivilised and unfortunate.
